Day Is Dying in the West

In Christianity, Outdoors on 8 November, 2008 by Thad Tagged:

Day is dying in the west;
Heaven is touching earth with rest;
Wait and worship while the night
Sets the evening lamps alight
Through all the sky.

Refrain
Holy, holy, holy, Lord God of Hosts!
Heaven and earth are full of Thee!
Heaven and earth are praising Thee,
O Lord most high!

Lord of life, beneath the dome
Of the universe, Thy home,
Gather us who seek Thy face
To the fold of Thy embrace,
For Thou art nigh.

While the deepening shadows fall,
Heart of love enfolding all,
Through the glory and the grace
Of the stars that veil Thy face,
Our hearts ascend.

When forever from our sight
Pass the stars, the day, the night,
Lord of angels, on our eyes
Let eternal morning rise
And shadows end.

Ministry in Africa

In Christianity on 5 December, 2007 by Thad

In today’s post I want to turn your attention to a very important ministry that is aimed at equipping the church in Africa to stand against the growing influence of cults and other aberrant teachings. The Africa Center for Apologetics and Research is seeking to provide African Christians with the evangelistic and apologetic resources and training necessary to be faithful to the gospel in their present culture.

At the heart of this ministry is John Divito, whom I consider a friend and faithful servant of the Lord. You may know him as The Reformed Baptist Thinker, and now he has determined to use his God-given gift of biblical thinking to contend for the gospel in Africa.

From the website: “John Divito…will teach church leaders as well as hold open seminars and conferences in the area of biblical discernment and cults. He will also develop standardized curriculum for teaching cults, apologetics, and comparative religion throughout the region.”

I want to encourage you to visit the ministry’s website, or to check out the new blog. In fact, today (Wednesday), John will be fielding questions, so go on over and start up a discussion and familiarize yourself with this important work of God.
